Choose a time when you feel grounded and clear — protection magic works best from a place of strength, not fear. Place your black candle at the center. Arrange your black tourmaline, sea salt, rosemary, and black ribbon around it.

Take three strong, grounding breaths — breathe down into the earth, feel your feet, feel your solidity. You are not afraid. You are powerful. You are building a shield. Begin.

✦ THE SALT CIRCLE

Before lighting your candle, pour your sea salt in a circle around your entire ritual space — large enough to sit within. This is your first line of defense: a sacred boundary that negative energy cannot cross.

As you pour, speak:

"I cast this circle of salt as a boundary of protection.
Within this circle, only what serves my highest good may enter.
All negativity, all harm, all ill will — stops here.
This line is drawn. This boundary is sacred."

Step inside the circle. You are now in protected space.

If you have a protection oil, anoint your black candle. Anoint your wrists, the back of your neck, and your heart. As you do, speak:

"I anoint myself with the energy of protection.

I am protected — fully and completely."

Light your black candle.

"As this black flame burns,
So burns away every threat, every curse, every ill intention

Hold your black tourmaline in your dominant hand. Black tourmaline is the most powerful protective stone in the mineral kingdom — it creates an impenetrable energetic shield, absorbs negative energy before it can reach you, and grounds any harmful energy into the earth where it is neutralized.

"Black tourmaline, guardian of the highest order,
Build your shield around me now.

Place the tourmaline in front of you — facing outward, toward any perceived threat.

Take your rosemary and pass it over your body from head to toe — front and back. Rosemary is one of the oldest protective herbs in existence, used across Mediterranean and European traditions to purify, guard, and strengthen. It clears what has already attached and prevents new attachment.

"Rosemary, ancient guardian of the threshold,
Sweep from me all that does not belong —
All negative energy, all psychic debris,
All attachments that were never mine to carry.

Place the rosemary beside your candle or tuck it into your clothing briefly to carry its protection.

✦ THE BLACK RIBBON BINDING

Take your black ribbon. Hold it in both hands and speak:

"I charge this ribbon with the power of protection.
It carries the energy of this ritual —
The salt, the stone, the herb, the flame.
All of it, bound into this ribbon.
All of it, bound to me."

Tie the ribbon around your left wrist — the receiving side, where energy enters. Tie three knots, speaking with each:

• First knot: "I am shielded."
• Second knot: "I am protected."
• Third knot: "Nothing harmful may reach me."

"So mote it be."

Wear the ribbon until it falls off naturally, or until you feel the protection is fully established.

✦ THE PROTECTION DECLARATION

Stand tall within your salt circle. Arms crossed over your chest — the universal gesture of self-protection — then open them wide, palms outward, pushing energy away. Speak with authority:

"I am protected — on all sides, at all times, in all places.
Above me, below me, before me, behind me —
I am shielded.

No curse may reach me. No hex may hold me.
No ill will may touch me. No negative energy may enter my field.
What is sent to harm me is returned to sender — threefold.

Let your black candle burn safely. When ready to close, step out of the salt circle and sweep it up — disposing of the salt outside your home or down the drain, carrying away what it absorbed.
