✦ Ritual Guideline: This script is offered as a basic guideline to help you voice your intention. It is not essential to adhere solely to it — feel free to speak from your heart, adapt the words to your own truth, or use it simply as a framework. Your intention is the most powerful ingredient in any self love ritual.
🔥 Fire Safety: This ritual involves an open flame. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep all flammable materials at a safe distance from the flame. Burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Keep water nearby. Extinguish all flames completely before leaving the space.

✦ ABOUT THIS RITUAL
Self love is not vanity — it is the foundation of everything. Every relationship you have, every boundary you set or fail to set, every risk you take or don’t take, every dream you pursue or abandon — all of it flows from how you feel about yourself at your core. This ritual is not about becoming someone different. It is about returning to who you already are — and choosing to love that person, fully and without condition.
The mirror is the most powerful tool in this ritual. It asks you to do something most of us find genuinely difficult: to look at yourself and speak love. Do it anyway. Especially if it feels uncomfortable. Especially if you don’t fully believe it yet. The words create the belief — not the other way around.
✦ PREPARATION
Choose a time when you will not be interrupted. Dim the lights. Create a space that feels beautiful and sacred — this ritual is an act of devotion to yourself, and you deserve a beautiful container for it.
Place your candle in front of your mirror so that when you look in the mirror, you can see the flame reflected. Arrange your rose quartz, rose water, and lavender around it.
Take three slow, tender breaths. Place one hand on your heart. Feel it beating — faithful, constant, yours. Begin.
✦ THE ROSE WATER ANOINTING
Open your rose water. Before you light the candle, anoint yourself — your face, your wrists, your heart. Rose water is sacred to Aphrodite and to Venus — it is the water of love, of beauty, of the divine feminine in all its forms. As you anoint yourself, speak:
"I anoint myself with rose water — sacred and sweet.
I am worthy of this tenderness.
I am worthy of this care.
I begin this ritual by treating myself
As someone who deserves to be loved.
Because I do."
✦ ANOINT & IGNITE
Anoint your candle with a few drops of rose water or any love oil you have. Light your candle.
"I light this flame for myself.
Not for anyone else — for me.
This flame is my devotion to myself.
It burns as long as I tend it.
And I choose to tend it — today, and every day."
✦ THE ROSE QUARTZ — OPENING TO SELF LOVE
Hold your rose quartz over your heart. Rose quartz is the stone of unconditional love — and that includes love for yourself. Feel its warmth. Let it soften whatever is hard in your chest.
"Rose quartz, stone of the open heart,
Soften the places in me that are hard toward myself —
The self-criticism, the harsh inner voice,
The part of me that holds myself to impossible standards.
Replace it with gentleness.
Replace it with the same compassion
I would offer to someone I love deeply.
I deserve that compassion too.
I give it to myself now."
Hold the rose quartz to your heart in silence for a moment. Breathe.
✦ THE LAVENDER CALMING
Take your lavender and breathe in its scent. Lavender quiets the inner critic — the voice that says you are not enough, not worthy, not lovable. Let it calm that voice.
"Lavender, gentle and true,
Quiet the voice that speaks unkindly to me.
Soothe the part of me that is tired of fighting myself.
Let me rest in my own goodness for a moment.
Let me simply be — without judgment, without condition.
I am enough. Right now. As I am."
Place the lavender near your heart or beside the candle.
✦ THE MIRROR WORK — THE HEART OF THIS RITUAL
Look into the mirror. Look into your own eyes — not at your flaws, not at what you wish were different. Into your eyes. The eyes that have seen everything you have been through. The eyes that are still here.
Speak to yourself. Use your own name. Speak slowly and mean every word:
"[Your name] — I see you.
I see everything you have been through.
I see how hard you have tried.
I see how much you have carried.
I see how many times you got back up.
I see you — and I am proud of you.
[Your name] — I love you.
Not when you are perfect. Not when you have it together.
Not when you are at your best.
I love you now — exactly as you are.
Messy and beautiful and real and enough.
[Your name] — I choose you.
I choose to be on your side.
I choose to speak kindly to you.
I choose to take care of you.
I choose to believe in you.
You are worthy of love.
You have always been worthy of love.
Starting with mine.
So mote it be."
Stay with yourself in the mirror as long as you need. Let whatever comes up, come up. This is sacred work.
✦ CLOSING
Let your candle burn safely. When ready to close:
"I give thanks to myself — for showing up for this ritual.
For being willing to look in the mirror and choose love.
That took courage. I honor that courage.
The ritual is complete. The love is real.
It is done. It is done. It is done."
Keep your rose quartz on your nightstand or carry it with you. Each time you see it, let it remind you: you chose yourself today.
✦ AFTER YOUR RITUAL
Do one act of self care today — something that is purely for you, purely because you deserve it. A bath, a walk, a meal you love, an hour of rest without guilt. Self love is not a feeling you wait to have — it is a practice you choose to do. This ritual is the beginning. The daily choices are the continuation.
