✦ ABOUT UNCROSSING

A “crossed condition” is a state of spiritual blockage — when things that should flow easily become stuck, when bad luck accumulates, when you feel as though something unseen is working against you. Crossed conditions can arise from deliberate hexes or curses, from unintentional negative energy sent by others, from your own accumulated fear and negativity, or simply from spiritual stagnation.

Uncrossing is the practice of removing that blockage — cutting through what has been crossed, clearing what has accumulated, and restoring the natural flow of your life. Hyssop is the premier uncrossing herb, used in biblical and folk magic traditions for purification and spiritual cleansing. Lemon cuts through negativity and breaks crossed conditions. Sea salt purifies and seals. Uncrossing oil activates and directs the work. White candle burns away what has been removed.

✦ PREPARATION

If possible, perform this ritual during a waning moon — the waning moon supports removal, banishing, and clearing. But any time you feel the need is the right time.

Place your white candle at the center. Arrange your hyssop, uncrossing oil, lemon, and sea salt around it. Have a bowl of water nearby for the hyssop wash.

Take three strong, clearing breaths — breathe in clean air, breathe out everything that has been sitting on you. You are about to clear it all. Begin.

✦ THE LEMON CUTTING

The lemon comes first — it cuts through crossed conditions before anything else can work. Cut your lemon in half. As you cut, speak with authority:

"I cut through every crossed condition that has been placed upon me —
Deliberately or accidentally, known or unknown.
I cut through every hex, every curse, every ill wish.
I cut through every block, every obstacle, every spiritual weight.
It is cut. It is severed. It is done."

Rub one half of the lemon over your hands, wrists, and the back of your neck — the primary entry points for negative energy. As you do, feel it pulling the crossed condition out of your energy field.

"Lemon, cutter of crossed conditions,
Draw out what has been placed upon me.
Pull it from my field. Pull it from my life.
What was crossed — is now cut.
I am free of it."

When done, place the lemon halves cut-side down on your altar. They will absorb what has been removed. Dispose of them outside your home after the ritual — do not bring them back inside.

✦ THE SALT PURIFICATION

Take your sea salt and rub a small amount between your palms, then over your hands and wrists. Salt purifies what the lemon has loosened.

"Salt of the earth, ancient purifier,
Cleanse what the lemon has drawn out.

Remove every trace of what was crossed.

Sprinkle a circle of salt around your ritual space to contain and neutralize the energy being removed.

✦ THE HYSSOP WASH

Prepare your hyssop: place the herb in a bowl of warm water and let it steep for a few minutes, or simply hold the herb over the bowl and speak your intention into the water. Hyssop water is one of the most powerful spiritual cleansing washes in folk magic — it has been used for thousands of years to remove sin, crossed conditions, and spiritual impurity.

Dip your hands in the hyssop water. Wash your hands, wrists, and face. As you do, speak:

"Hyssop, ancient purifier, wash me clean.

What was placed upon me — is washed away.
What was crossed — is uncrossed.

Pour the remaining hyssop water down the drain or outside — carrying away what it has absorbed.

✦ ANOINT & IGNITE

Open your Uncrossing Oil. Anoint your white candle — from wick to base this time, pushing the crossed condition away from you and out. Anoint your wrists, your heart, and your forehead. As you do, speak:

"I anoint myself with uncrossing oil.
Every crossed condition is pushed away from me.
Every block is dissolved. Every hex is broken.
Every obstacle is removed.
I am clear. I am open. I am free."

Light your white candle.

"As this white flame burns,
So burns away every crossed condition that has touched me.
The white light consumes it — completely, permanently.
What was crossed is uncrossed.
What was blocked is open.
It is done."

✦ THE UNCROSSING DECLARATION

Stand tall. Cross your arms over your chest — then dramatically uncross them and open them wide, palms outward. Do this three times as you speak:

"I uncross myself — [uncross arms]
I uncross my path — [uncross arms]
I uncross my life — [uncross arms]

Every crossed condition is broken.
Every hex is dissolved. Every curse is returned to sender.
Every block is removed. Every obstacle is cleared.

I walk forward on a clear path.
My luck is restored. My flow is restored.

✦ CLOSING

Let your white candle burn down completely if safe to do so — it is consuming what has been removed. When ready to close:

"I give thanks to hyssop, lemon, salt, and oil
For their power in this uncrossing work.
The crossed condition is removed. The path is clear.
The work is complete.

Dispose of the lemon halves outside your home. Sweep or vacuum your ritual space and dispose of the debris outside as well — carrying away the last traces of what was removed.
