"Forest Dome Chime" Natural Seed Bell

How to play: Hold the handle or support and gently shake by hand to make the seed shells sound. This is a hand-played percussion piece; wind will not activate it.

A shelter for sound. A handcrafted chime with a smooth dark dome cap and cascading seeds that sound a gentle, woody melody when gently shaken by hand.

The Story: The Lantern in the Woods

Deep in the quiet valley, nature builds its own structures. "The Forest Dome Chime" is inspired by the shape of wild mushrooms and primitive forest dwellings.

The design is anchored by a smooth dark shell "dome" at the top, acting as a roof for the pieces below. Suspended from this canopy is a carefully balanced arrangement of flat beige seeds, polished dark beans, and a large, textured hollow fruit pod. It functions not just as a visual ornament, but as a natural hand bell. When swayed by the wind or your hand, the seeds knock against the large pod, producing a deep, hollow, soothing sound.

Key Features

• Unique Dome "Roof": The top features a hemispherical dark shell (resembling a large acorn cap or polished coconut shell). This architectural element sets it apart from simple string charms.
• Deep Hollow Sound: The centerpiece is a large, rough-textured hollow nut at the bottom. It acts as a resonator chamber, creating a warm, woody "clunk" sound that is quieter and lower than metal chimes.
• Cascading Seed Layers: Features layers of flat light-colored seeds (like stone fruit pits) and round dark beans, with a clear contrast between shapes and colors.
• Sturdy Rope Handle: Suspended by a thick, durable beige rope loop with a secure knot, making it easy to hang on a tree branch, window latch, or car mirror.
• Raw Texture: The large bottom pod retains its natural fibrous texture, giving the piece a rugged, wabi-sabi character.
