The Quinn Irish Harp Celtic Cross Necklace
Solid sterling silver Celtic Cross Pendant on an 18" chain.
This beautiful sterling silver cross is a replica of a cross from County Clare, Ireland!
The original Harp Cross is located among the ruins of the Quinn Friary and is approximately 11 feet high. Quinn was founded as a Franciscan Friary in 1433. It was built in the ruins of a much older Anglo-Norman castle. In 1541 Henry VIII dissolved the friary in his campaign to control the wealth and power of the Church.
Carved into the face of the cross is an Irish harp and scores of shamrocks. Both have become famous symbols of Ireland. The harp figures into many of the old Irish myths. The shamrock is from a legend about St. Patrick that says he used a shamrock with its three leaves to explain the Trinity, the triple nature of God.
This beautiful solid sterling silver Celtic Cross incorporates these classic Irish symbols in one lovely cross...a unique piece that will be loved for a lifetime.
Cross is 4mm thick - a sturdy cross that is made to last.
1 1/4" x 1/2" solid sterling silver pendant comes on an 18" sterling silver chain.

Celtic Cross Jewelry: The Enduring Symbol of Celtic Faith, Heritage, and Tradition
What Makes the Celtic Cross Unique?
Among all Celtic symbols, the Celtic Cross is one of the most recognizable and meaningful designs in Celtic jewelry. Distinguished by the circular halo surrounding the intersection of the cross, the traditional Celtic Cross combines Christian faith with ancient Celtic symbolism. The circle is often interpreted as a symbol of eternity, unity, and everlasting life, while the cross itself represents faith, hope, and spiritual guidance.
Many sterling silver Celtic Cross necklaces and Celtic Cross pendants feature intricate Celtic knotwork. These endless knots symbolize eternal love, family connections, and the unbroken bonds between generations. This rich symbolism makes Celtic Cross jewelry a meaningful accessory as well as a treasured expression of Celtic heritage.
The History of the Celtic Cross
The history of the Celtic Cross stretches back more than a thousand years to the early Christian communities of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. Towering stone crosses adorned with elaborate carvings became important landmarks throughout the Celtic nations, serving as places of worship, learning, and remembrance.
Over time, the Celtic Cross became one of the defining symbols of Irish heritage, Scottish ancestry, Welsh traditions, and Celtic spirituality. Today, it remains one of the most popular motifs in Celtic jewelry, Irish jewelry gifts, and heritage-inspired accessories.
